It's not so crazy, IMO, as good players are reluctant to fieldquake F8, if they know you are playing earth as well. So my wood creatures were quite safe on F8 in that respect. Elven Berserker Maiden (59) can be played effectively on wood or earth depending on the state of the game. The wood creatures were there for the early game with only maybe Bewitching Elf Archeress (57) really wanting a wood field.
Using earth as the main element was obvious as it has the great cards for a long game, and no one expects you to play Healing Shower (97) as it's not really a popular card. Some players like to leave 1 or 2 creatures on 1 HP so they can always 'kill them later'. A Healing Shower (97) can really mess with that strategy.
I got to the semis, which I am more than happy with, but felt I had a good chance to win with these two decks.
I love my kids more than I love Eye of judgement.... my girlfriend is a close third
